AFRIKAANSE BIOGRAFIE
Nedine Blom se twee groot passies in die lewe begin beide met die letter “M” Musiek en Mense! Sy is musikant, motiveringspreker en ‘n gekwalifiseerde prokureur wat elke ding wat sy aanpak met energie en met passie deurvoer.
Na haar geboorte in Bloemfontein en kleuterjare in die klein Vrystaatste dorpie, Koffiefontein, verhuis die gesin later jare na Pretoria waar sy in graad 2 haar sangdebuut maak in Laerskool Lynnwood se kinderkoor. Met ‘n hart vir die platteland, voltooi sy haar hoërskoolloopbaan aan Hoërskool Erasmus te Bronkhorstspruit waar die kultuurgogga weliswaar begin byt en sy aan al wat ‘n revue en Eistedfodd is, begin deelneem. Haar skrywerstalent het reeds in haar jeugjare na vore gekom en een van die liedjies uit haar pen, word reeds in haar matriekjaar as wenliedjie aangewys, tydens RSG se "Sterre 2000" in 1999.
Nedine Blom is een van Suid-Afrika se jong sopraanvondse en en sy word gereeld as Suid-Afrika se eie Sarah Brightman bestempel. Sy het die verhoog reeds gedeel met van ons land se voorste kunstenaars, wat insluit Jannie Moolman, Sibongile Ngoma, Kevin Leo, André Schwartz en Soweto String Quartet. Haar optrede by korporatiewe funksies sluit in Sanlam/Sarie Damesoggend, City of Tshwane Municipal Excellence Awards, Pam Golding Golden Awards, Willa Krause Oscar Awards, Munimed Awards Ceremony, Toyota se 25ste Handelaarskonferensie, Mnr. Suid-Afrika 2006, “The Fantastic Four” by Carnival City en talle meer.
Haar se derde album, “Met my hele hart” is ‘n vertoonstuk van haar stemkwaliteit en bevat onder andere ‘n indrukwekkende, klassieke pop duet, wat sy opgeneem het saam met Danie Niehaus. Daar is ook talle Nedine Blom gunstelinge op die album soos “Meermin” en “Jy is in die wind vanaand" (Reën) en die pop treffer “Hoor jy my stem in die nag”.
Haar sangtalent strek egter verder as die klassieke genre. Sy het onlangs ‘n hoogs suksesvolle kinder- pop album getiteld “Supercool” , vrygestel, wat ‘n hele nuwe standaard in Afrikaanse jeugmusiek daarstel. Tien van die 14 snitte kom uit Blom se eie pen en sy het onlangs supersterstatus verwerf by kinders regoor Suid-Afrika met hierdie populêre CD.
Wat televisie aanbetref, is Nedine reeds vir die afgelope ses maande die aanbieder van Radiokansel en kykNET se Christelike joernaalprogram “In pas”.
Ander TV-programme sluit in:
“Pasella” , “Topbilling”, “Dis hoe dit is met Steve”, “Kunskafee” (kykNET), “Heartbeat” (SABC 2), “Pitstop” (SABC 2), “Kwela” (kykNET) en onlangs die baie gewilde joernaalprogramme, "Liriekeraai" en “Sweepslag” (SABC 2).
Gedurende 2009 verskyn sy op die volgende programme:
“Jukebox”, “Noot vir Noot”, ” Dis hoe dit is met Steve”, “Roer”, asook ”Fiesta” en ”Kwela”. Haar musiekvideos, “Hoor jy my stem in die nag”, “Meermin” en “Vir altyd ‘n kinderhart”, word ook gereeld op kykNET vertoon.
As motiveringspreker het sy ‘n besondere passie vir vrouens en hul selfwaarde en het gedurende 2007 en 2008 meer as 3 000 vrouens toegespreek. Sy leef vir die Here en tree nasionaal op as lof-en-aanbiddingsleier, motiveringspreker, sangeres, voorbidder en fasiliteerder tydens tiener- en vrouekampe.
Sy beskik oor ‘n formidabele lof-en-aanbiddingspan wat saam met haar toer. Sy speel self ook klavier tydens haar bedieningsmomente. Gemeenteoptredes sluit in: NG Kerk Pierre van Ryneveld, NG Kerk Swaanswyk in Tokai, NG Kerk Proteapark, NG Kerk Lynnwood, NG Kerk Houtbaai en talle ander. Sy is ook ‘n kampfasiliteerder met ‘n groot passie vir vrouens en kinders en die herstel van gebroke verhoudings binne die gesinsverband.
‘n Hoogtepunt vir Nedine Blom was haar kroning as Mev Verenigde Nasies Suid- Afrika in 2006 . Sy is ook dieselfde jaar as eerste prinses in die Mev. Verenigde Nasies Internasionaal-kompetisie in Los Angeles aangewys. Verdere hoogtepunte was die Januarie 2007 voorblad van die spogtydskrif “Vrouekeur”, waarin haar passie vir die opheffing van vroue en kinders beklemtoon is, asook die “Finesse”-voorblad in Augustus 2007, waarin sy tesame met “Finesse” haar dankbaarheidsarmband bekend gestel het. Sy is ook as verkies as een van die mees inspirerende vroue in S.A. tesame met Suzette van der Merwe, voormalige Mej. S.A. en Bertha Cronjé.

Nedine Blom se hart loop oor van liefde vir gesinne en ook kinders. Met ‘n passie vir kinders, het sy een van haar komposisies getiteld “ Vir altyd ‘n kinderhart” (ook op haar CD “Met my hele hart” beskikbaar), opgedra ter gedagtenis aan die pyn en swaarkry van kinders. Nedine Blom het ’n groot hart vir liefdadigheid en werk gereeld saam met verskeie liefdadigheidsorganisasies. Haar kinderprogram op Radiokansel, “Dina in Blommeland”, lê haar baie na aan die hart.

Sy is ma van 3, stapelgek oor baklava en biltong en droom daarvan om ‘n hoofrol te sing in een van Andrew Lloyd Webber se musiekblyspele.

ENGLISH BIOGRAPHY:
Nedine Blom has two special passions in life – MUSIC and PEOPLE! Not only is she a renowned musician, she also does motivational talks and is a qualified lawyer on top of that. Everything she undertakes is done with energy and passion.
After her birth in Bloemfontein and todler years in a small Free State town, Koffiefontein, the family moved to Pretoria where she made her debut in Grade 2 in Laerskool Lynwood’s children’s choir. She always loved the country and completed her high school career at Hoërskool Erasmus in Bronkhorstspruit, where she also developed her passion for the cultural side of life by taking part in every musical and Eistedfodd possible. Her talent for writing became apparrent already when she was very young, when a song she wrote, was the winning song in RSG’s “Sterre 2000” competition in 1999.
Nedine Blom is one of South Africa’s young soprano “discoveries” and has often been named South Africa’s own Sarah Brightman. She has shared a stage with some of our country’s best performing artists, including Jannie Moolman, Sibongile Ngoma, Kevin Leo, André Schwartz and the Soweto String Quartet. Her performances at corporate functions include Sanlam/Sarie Damesoggend, City of Tshwane Municipal Excellence Awards, Pam Golding Golden Awards, Willa Krause Oscar Awards, Munimed Awards Ceremony, Toyota’s 25th Dealer’s conference, Mr South Africa 2006, “The Fantastic Four” at Carnival City and many more.
Her third album, “Met my hele hart” is a perfect portrayal of her voice quality and includes a very impressive classical pop duet that she recorded with Danie Niehaus. The album also includes a number of Nedine Blom favourites like “Meermin” and “Jy is in die wind vanaand" (the rain), as well as the popular hit song “Hoor jy my stem in die nag”.
Her singing talent stretches further than the cassical genre though and she recently released a very successful children’s pop album, titled “Supercool” , which set a whole new standard for South African youth music. Ten of the 14 songs were written by Nedine Blom herself and she recently reached superstar status among children all over South Africa, with this popular CD.
On television Nedine has been the presenter of Radiokansel’s and kykNET’s Christian programme “In pas” for the last six months.

As motivational speaker she has a special passion for women and their feeling of self worth and during 2007 and 2008 she inspired more than 3 000 women with her talks. She dedicates her life and talents to the Lord and performs all over the country as praise and worship leader, motivational speaker, singer, intercessor and facilitator during teenager’s and women’s camps.
She makes use of a formidable praise and worship team, who goes on tour with her, but she also plays the piano during her ministry. Her performances in churches include NG Kerk Pierre van Ryneveld, NG Kerk Swaanswyk in Tokai, NG Kerk Proteapark, NG Kerk Lynnwood, NG Kerk Houtbaai and many more. She is also a facilitator at camps, with a special passion for women and children and the healing of broken relationships within the family circle.
Nedine Blom’s crowning as Mrs United Nations South Africa in 2006, was a highlight for her. In the same year she was appointed First Princess in the Mrs United Nations International competition in Los Angeles. Further highlights for her were appearing on the front cover of the elite women’s magazine “Vrouekeur” in January 2007, emphasising her passion for the upliftment of women and childen, as well as the front cover of “Finesse” in August 2007 where she, in liaison with “Finesse” launched her “being thankful” bracelet. She has also been elected as one of the most inspirational women in South Africa, together with Suzette van der Merwe, a former Miss South Africa, and Bertha Cronjé.
Nedine Blom’s heart is overflowing with love for children and their immediate families. As a result of her empathy with children, she dedicated one of her compositions titled “ Vir altyd ‘n kinderhart” (also included in her CD 'Met my hele hart'), to the memory of children who have to endure some form of suffering. Nedine Blom has a big heart for charity and regularly shares her time and talents with charity organisations. Her children’s programme on Radiokansel, called “Dina in Blommeland” is very dear to her.
Nedine Blom has three life philosohies:

She is mother to three children, mad about baklava and biltong and dreams about a major singing role in one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals.
Her short term goal is to put “Supercool – die Musical” on stage.
